Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has expressed condolence on the death of former Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Tony Adeniyi, describing the late lawmaker as a remarkable patriot whose life was defined by service, faith and a strong commitment to justice.
The former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) who said he received the news of Adeniyi's death with a heavy heart stated that the late legal icon was a man of great passion for justice, integrity, and courage.
While saying the former Senator left a legacy of service, Fayemi said Adeniyi's contributions to the legal profession and public service would remain a lasting testament to his dedication to building a better society.
He added that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would not forget Adeniyi's yeoman’s effort in the legal battle that brought the former governor to government in 2010.
"Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was respected for his wisdom, humility, and the dignity with which he carried himself. Characters he exhibited to great deal during his time at the Nigerian Senate".
"His passing is a great loss to his family, the legal community, Ekiti State, and Nigeria at large. We have lost a rare breed whose counsel, experience, and commitment to the ideals of good governance will be deeply missed", Fayemi said.
