The Government of Ekiti State has declared tomorrow, Friday as a Work-Free day for all public servants in the State.
According to a circular issued on behalf of the State Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi by the Permanent Secretary in the Office of Establishments and Service Matters, Mrs Janet Ajibola, the work-free day was approved by the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji with the intent of allowing workers travel to their respective voting centres ahead of Saturday's gubernatorial election.
The circular however exempted essential service providers from the work-free day in order to ensure uninterrupted provision of appropriate services.
"For the purpose of safety and continuity of essential services, hospitals and health centres, fire service departments and other essential service providers are exempted and shall continue to provide appropriate services. All Heads of the exempted institutions are to make necessary duty arrangements to ensure uninterrupted service delivery", the service reads.
